Andrea has now decided he wishes to visit America. Now
In the middle of schooling.
I am not certain what is happening with him, though in some instances that may be because I do not wish to know details.
Is perhaps better I do not.
Though I must speak to his mother about this lastest request. Perhaps it would be better for him to be away from Mr. Beckham's influence a bit. To not see him everywhere.
Perhaps nothing is more important than his studies.
Although he did complete the bilingual school with honours.
I will speak to his mother and we will decide together I suppose.

It seems lately I am more and more forced into a position of authority rather than family with the boy I love as a son.
We have been more than understanding with Andrea and this dalliance with David Beckham, as well as various less than suitable actresses, models, and rock bands. Not that any of the young ladies or even Mr. Beckham are not fine people, but they are not anyone to be seriously considered by the future ruler of Monaco.
Our life is tenuous at best, a family kept in power by the strength only of our current ruler and his ability to produce a suitable heir. I faltered it's true, though my life is not my own either. We are a family born to public service, not as free citizens to galavant about as we wish.
There are many things I might have chosen to do with my life. Music and sports being the top two. I was not able to do so, so I've been more than understanding about Andrea's interests and pursuits and still I am placed in the role I most detest.
Andrea, you will return at once. We have tolerated this as far as we are going to tolerate it.
It is over. You have pushed it farther than is acceptable and we will not allow it any longer. Return home or I will be forced to revoke your passport. Do not force my hand, son.

I'm a bit in shock, so you'll have to forgive the way this update will certainly jump about making litle sense.
I thought today to tell you all about the World Music Awards, being held, as always in Monte-Carlo, this year they will be on October 12th and we look forward to seeing many of you there.
Though it seems the we may be me, as the boy I've raised has it seems turned his back on us. Andrea, this is insanity. You must return.
Not because I am your Uncle or even because your mother is distraught, but because it is your duty. You know this. And to turn your back on Monaco, everyone who has counted on you and loved you since you were a boy is unacceptable.
Return home at once. Leave that man to his family who so obviously want and need him.
This is senseless and thoughtless.
I expect to see you within the next few hours or you will see me.

I was flipping channels on the telly earlier and found a short but quite wrong documentary on the "Monaco Royals". While amusingly wrong in some areas a few facts did give me pause and remind me of a time I'd rather forget really.
A young woman, I thought was a close friend of mine had a bit of trouble mentally and got herself confused I suppose you could say. I was unfortunately stupid and trusting at the time and had very little to defend myself with other than my word, something that had always been taken quite seriously and was suddenly in question. I'd spent time alone with the young woman, whose name you have surely heard but will not be repeated here, and subsequently, she announced publicly that I had raped her.
While amusing to some now, I can assure you it was quite horrific at the time. Being a man who would never ever commit a rape I was appalled that my following announcement that I had done no such thing was met with questions not support.
I suppose this is why I am so protective of the younger members of my family. They are, like I once was, young and quite trusting of those they see as friendly. They've not had someone trusted turn on them. I pray they never do.

Today had begun as a day of relaxation, after finding out how very successful our recent Red Cross Ball was, I have been feeling quite happy here in Monaco today.
This post was supposed to be about that feeling. The good charities we work with and how Papa, even feeling less than well, came to the ball and enjoyed the show of The Lord of The Dance.
I wish I could still spend time writing that here. But it's been brought to my attention that a book published a few years ago and that I thought to be in our past has resurfaced in the hands of none other than my niece. Charlotte was apparently given this piece of trash by her latest friend, an American actress. Needless to say, this young lady's invitation to Monaco is revoked permanently. We have no wish to have this scandalous garbage invade us again.
My mother is no longer living and the lies written about her by this worthless British man who calls himself a journalist, are vast and cruel. It is horrible enough to drag my sisters both back through every painful moment of their lives with no thought as to how we may feel about it, but my father is an old man who deserves to have some peace now in his later years.
Monaco is a beautiful place, not akin to a combination of police state and Disney World and our family curse is not a product of a Grimaldi raping a young girl. But more of one who spurned a girl's affections and was cursed out of jealousy not revenge.
We have all made mistakes, this man is of the same ilk as those who chased and hounded Princess Diana to her death and not someone whose writing will ever be read or discussed in my home.
He makes money from the pain of others. As you can see here, in this listing of other books written by him.
My apologies to The Phoenix family, who I see, were also victimized by this creature.
